2002\u5e741\u6708\u61c9\u9080\u51fa\u4efb\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u83ef\u6a02\u5718\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\u7e3d\u76e3\u30022013\u5e7410\u6708\uff0c\u69ae\u7372\u6587\u5316\u754c\u6700\u9ad8\u69ae\u8b7d\u7684\u201c\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u6587\u5316\u734e\u201d\u3002\u8449\u8070\u5149\u69ae\u5730\u7d50\u675f\u4e8620\u5e74\u7684\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u83ef\u6a02\u5718\u97f3\u6a02\u7e3d\u76e3\u4e00\u8077\uff0c\u5f9e2023\u5e741\u67081\u65e5\u8d77\uff0c\u4ed6\u6210\u70ba\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u83ef\u6a02\u5718\u7684\u69ae\u8b7d\u6307\u63ee\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2007\u5e74\uff0c\u8449\u8070\u64d4\u4efb\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u570b\u6176\u5178\u79ae\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\u7e3d\u76e3\uff0c\u4ed6\u70ba\u9019\u500b\u8209\u570b\u6b61\u9a30\u7684\u6176\u5178\u7bc0\u76ee\u4f5c\u4e86\u5168\u65b0\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\u8a2d\u8a08\uff0c\u767c\u63da\u5177\u6709\u5357\u6d0b\u5730\u5340\u97f3\u6a02\u8207\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u7279\u8272\u7684\u83ef\u6a02\u4f5c\u54c1\uff0c\u4e26\u63d0\u9ad8\u570b\u969b\u97f3\u6a02\u754c\u5c0d\u6b64\u985e\u83ef\u6a02\u4f5c\u54c1\u7684\u8a8d\u8b58\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u8449\u8070\u66fe\u8207\u7121\u6578\u8457\u540d\u6a02\u5718\u5408\u4f5c\u30021988\u5e74\u81f32016\u5e74\uff0c\u64d4\u4efb\u7f8e\u570b\u5357\u7063\u4ea4\u97ff\u6a02\u5718\u97f3\u6a02\u7e3d\u76e3\u30021995\u5e74\uff0c\u4ed6\u8207\u5357\u7063\u4ea4\u97ff\u6a02\u5718\u66f4\u7372\u9812\u7f8e\u570b\u4f5c\u66f2\u5bb6\u3001\u4f5c\u5bb6\u53ca\u51fa\u7248\u5546\u5354\u6703\u5927\u734e\u69ae\u929c\u3002\u8449\u8070\u9000\u4f11\u96e2\u958b\u5357\u7063\u4ea4\u97ff\u6a02\u5718\u4e4b\u5f8c\uff0c\u69ae\u7372\u5370\u7b2c\u5b89\u90a3\u5dde\u5dde\u9577\u9812\u767c\u7684\u5370\u5730\u5b89\u7d0d\u5dde\u6700\u9ad8\u5e73\u6c11\u734e \u201cSagamore of the Wabash Award\u201d\u3002\u6b64\u5916\uff0c\u5357\u7063\u5e02\u5e02\u9577Pete Buttigieg \u4e5f\u5ba3\u4f482016\u5e745\u67087\u65e5\u70ba\u201cTsung Yeh Day\u201d( \u8449\u8070\u65e5)\u3002\u8449\u8070\u73fe\u88ab\u5b9a\u70ba\u5357\u7063\u4ea4\u97ff\u6a02\u5718\u5354\u6703\u6842\u51a0\u6307\u63ee\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u8449\u8070\u66fe\u8207\u5317\u7f8e\u591a\u500b\u6a02\u5718\u5408\u4f5c\uff0c\u8a08\u6709\u4e09\u85e9\u5e02\u3001\u5854\u514b\u905c\u3001\u7d10\u9ed1\u6587\u4ea4\u97ff\u6a02\u3001\u5361\u723e\u52a0\u91cc\u548c\u7f85\u5fb9\u65af\u7279\u7ba1\u5f26\u6a02\u5718\u7b49\u3002\u4ed6\u4e5f\u7d93\u5e38\u61c9\u9080\u64d4\u4efb\u4e9e\u6d32\u591a\u500b\u6a02\u5718\u7684\u5ba2\u5ea7\u6307\u63ee\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u4e2d\u570b\u3001\u65e5\u672c\uff08\u6771\u4eac\uff09\u548c\u65e5\u672c\u3001\u53f0\u7063\u3001\u4fc4\u7f85\u65af\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u6377\u514b\u3002\u4ed6\u66fe\u88ab\u6311\u9078\u53c3\u52a0\u7531\u829d\u52a0\u54e5\u4ea4\u97ff\u6a02\u5718\u4e3b\u8fa6\u7684\u201c\u6307\u63ee\u5bb6\u6df1\u9020\u8a08\u5283\u201d\uff0c\u4e26\u63a5\u53d7\u5176\u97f3\u6a02\u7e3d\u76e3\u5df4\u502b\u90a6\u53ca\u9996\u5e2d\u5ba2\u5ea7\u6307\u63ee\u5e03\u840a\u8332\u7684\u6307\u5c0e\u3002\u8449\u8070\u4e5f\u53c3\u8207\u5728\u4e0a\u6d77\u5927\u5287\u9662\u8209\u884c\u7684\u4e0a\u6d77\u6c11\u65cf\u6a02\u57182020\u5e74\u65b0\u5e74\u97f3\u6a02\u6703\uff0c\u4ed6\u91cd\u8fd4\u6bcd\u6821\uff0c\u64d4\u4efb\u4e0a\u6d77\u97f3\u6a02\u5b78\u9662\u5ba2\u5ea7\u6559\u6388\u3002\u4ed6\u66fe\u5728\u7f8e\u570b\u201c\u6307\u63ee\u5bb6\u806f\u76df\u201d\u8207\u5317\u7f8e\u4ea4\u97ff\u6a02\u5718\u806f\u5408\u6703\u8209\u8fa6\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\u574a\u64d4\u4efb\u8b1b\u5e2b\u3002\u4ed6\u4e5f\u7a4d\u6975\u53c3\u8207\u5728\u4e2d\u570b\u3001\u9999\u6e2f\u3001\u53f0\u7063\u548c\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u8209\u8fa6\u7684\u5927\u5e2b\u73ed\u30022016\u5e74\uff0c\u8449\u8070\u69ae\u7372\u7531\u4e2d\u570b\u6c11\u65cf\u7ba1\u5f26\u6a02\u5b78\u6703\u9812\u767c\u7684\u201c\u5091\u51fa\u6c11\u65cf\u7ba1\u5f26\u6a02\u6307\u63ee\u201d\u7a31\u865f\uff1b\u4e26\u88ab\u59d4\u4efb\u70ba\u4e2d\u570b\u201c\u5343\u4eba\u8a08\u5283\u201d\u5c08\u5bb6\u4e4b\u4e00\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tsung Yeh (1950~) is a conductor, composer, and educator. He currently serves as the Honorary Conductor of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Music Director Emeritus of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra in Indiana, and Advisor to the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra. He has previously held positions as Music Director of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Assistant Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Resident Conductor of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Albany Symphony Orchestra in New York. He has also been appointed as the Principal Guest Conductor of the China National Traditional Orchestra, Wuxi Traditional Orchestra, and Macau Chinese Orchestra. He serves as an Academic Committee Member of the He Luting Chinese Music High-Level Research Institute at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and as a faculty member at the International Conducting Institute in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tsung Yeh was born in Shanghai in 1950 and began studying piano at the age of five. In 1979, he pursued conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and two years later received a full scholarship to study at Mannes College of Music in New York under Maestro Carl Bamberger. In 1983, he studied at Yale University with Otto-Werner Mueller and also received guidance from Leonard Bernstein, Sergiu Celibidache, and Herbert von Karajan. In April 1991, he was selected to participate in the Conductor’s Workshop jointly organized by the American Symphony Orchestra League and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, where he closely collaborated with Maestro Georg Solti and Principal Guest Conductor Pierre Boulez. In 1995, Tsung Yeh and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra were awarded the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from the 1999-2000 season, Tsung Yeh served as the Music Director of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta while concurrently holding the position of Music Director of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with numerous orchestras worldwide, including those in North America, France, and the Beijing Huaxia Chamber Orchestra. He has also been invited as a guest conductor by orchestras in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Tsung Yeh has gained a reputation in the field of conducting education. Since 1992, he has been the Artistic Director of the Czech Symphony Orchestra Conducting Workshop and has served as a speaker at several workshops organized by the Conductors Guild in the United States. Since 1997, he has been invited annually as the main lecturer at the International Master Class for Modern Music Conductors held in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January 2002, Tsung Yeh was invited to be the Music Director of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. In October 2013, he was honored with the highest cultural award in Singapore, the “Cultural Medallion.” Tsung Yeh concluded his 20-year tenure as Music Director of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and became its Honorary Conductor from January 1, 2023. In 2007, he served as the Music Director for Singapore’s National Day Parade, where he designed new music emphasizing the unique characteristics of Nanyang music and Singaporean culture, increasing international recognition for Chinese orchestral works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tsung Yeh has collaborated with numerous renowned orchestras. From 1988 to 2016, he served as the Music Director of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. In 1995, he and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra were awarded the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Award. After retiring from the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Tsung Yeh was honored with the “Sagamore of the Wabash Award” by the Governor of Indiana. Additionally, Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend declared May 7, 2016, as “Tsung Yeh Day.” Tsung Yeh is currently designated as the Music Director Emeritus of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tsung Yeh has collaborated with several orchestras in North America, including the San Francisco Symphony, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He is also frequently invited as a guest conductor by orchestras in Asia, including those in China, Japan (Tokyo), Taiwan, Russia, and the Czech Republic. He was selected to participate in the Conductors Workshop organized by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and received guidance from Maestro Daniel Barenboim and Principal Guest Conductor Pierre Boulez. Tsung Yeh also participated in the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra’s 2020 New Year Concert held at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, where he returned to his alma mater, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, as a Visiting Professor. He has served as a lecturer at workshops organized by the Conductors Guild and the North American Orchestras Association. He actively participates in masterclasses held in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, andother countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to his conducting career, Tsung Yeh is also a composer. He has composed a wide range of works, including orchestral pieces, chamber music, and choral works. Some of his notable compositions include “Symphony No. 1: New World,” “Concerto for Chinese Percussion and Orchestra,” “The Beauty of the Heart,” and “The Moon Represents My Heart.” His compositions often combine elements of Western classical music with traditional Chinese music, showcasing his unique musical style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tsung Yeh is dedicated to music education and has been involved in conducting workshops and masterclasses around the world. He has served as the Artistic Director of the Czech Symphony Orchestra Conducting Workshop and has been a faculty member at the International Conducting Institute in the Czech Republic. He has also been a guest lecturer at various workshops and masterclasses, sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring conductors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout his career, Tsung Yeh has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field of music.
