After trying many string instruments, she decided to specialize in playing the qin. In the early 1970\u2019s, she learned the qin under TSAR Teh-yun. In 1980\u2019s, she travelled all over China an learned under many qin masters, and in particular received the guidance of ZHANG Zi-qian and YAO Bing-yin. Since then, her performing style has been gradually established.
