He has been the music editor of the Shanghai Art Publishing Company. In 1956, He became the first man teaching the qin in the Shanghai Conservatory. From 1957 to 1966, he was appointed the chairman of the Jinyu Qin Musicians Association. In 1949, he has been the first person to play the qin in the films.
