ZHU Chang-yao<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n ZHU Chang-yao was born in 1956 in Nanjing, Jiangsu province. At the age of seven, he joined the famous art group The Nanjing Little Red Flower Arts Troupe<\/em> and learned the erhu<\/em> under CHEN Yao-xing. In 1973, he was admitted to the Nanjing Arts Academy learning the erhu<\/em> under GAN Tao, QU An-hau and MA You-de. In 1976, he graduated from the academy and was appointed to the Song and Dance Troupe of Jiangsu Province as a member of the attached orchestra. He is now the vice-president of the troupe and the national first class performer. Since 1987, he was the soloist and the head of the Jiangsu Province Traditional Music and Dance Troupe. He led the troupe to visit Japan continuously for seven years.
