In 1970, she graduated from the conservatory and was appointed to the Folk Art Troupe of Shanxi for sixteen years. During these years, she was given valuable guidance from the well-known scholars CAO Zheng and LI Shi-gen. These combined laid the solid foundation to her later performance, composing and theoretical research. Now QU Yun is working as a professional zheng<\/em> soloist, teacher and doing the teaching and researching work of traditional music.
