中國廣播民族樂團，原名中央廣播電台文工團民族管弦樂隊，一九八○年改現名。成立於一九五三年四月，是中國同類型民族樂團中成立最早的團體之一。該團主要任務是為廣播、電視提供人民群眾喜聞樂見的民族音樂節目，通過廣播電視播出和錄製唱片為國內外廣大聽眾服務。歷任團長張晉德、江純一、李一鳴、彭修文、王大啟……等。
該團的樂隊由弓弦樂組、彈撥樂組、吹管樂組、打擊樂組（包括一個民歌演唱組）所組成。半世紀以來該團為廣播、電視演播了千餘首樂曲，並錄製了數以百計的唱片。為了適應民族樂隊發展的需要，該團從一九五三年起對各種民族樂器進行收集、整理，並對揚琴、阮、笙、排鼓、馬頭琴等一些樂器進行了成功的改革。
從一九五七年後，樂團曾先後應邀訪問過前蘇聯、羅馬尼亞、南斯拉夫、德意志聯邦共和國、義大利、澳大利亞、新西蘭、菲律賓、香港等十幾個國家和地區。部分演員還訪問過朝鮮、美國、加拿大以及南美洲、非洲等十幾個國家和地區，為增進中國同世界各國人民的友誼、發展國際間文化交流作出貢獻。
該團在不斷的藝術實踐中，成長了一批音樂專業人才。知名的指揮家、演奏家、演唱家有彭修文、陸青霜、俞良模等。由該團創作、改編的器樂合奏曲《春江花月夜》、《月兒高》、《流水操》、《豐收鑼鼓》，笛子獨奏曲《牧民新歌》，二胡齊奏曲《喜看麥田千層浪》，已成為該團的保留曲目。
China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra It was originally an orchestra founded in 1953 under the broadcasting system and changed to the present name in 1980. It was one of the earliest Chinese orchestra in China and its main role was to produce music and recordings for the broadcasting network, for all places in China and overseas.
In about 50 years, the orchestra has broadcasted more than a thousand pieces of work and has produced hundreds of records. From 1953, owing to the need of the development of the orchestra, many successful revolution had been made on instruments such as yangqin, ruan, sheng, paigu, matouqin etc.
Since 1957, it had toured around the world and made great contribution in culturat’exchange and improvement of the friendship bewteen Chinese and people of other countries.
In the past years, the orchestra had brought up many masters in Chinese music such as Peng Xiu-wen, Wang Guo-tong, Yu Liang-mo etc. and also a large number of classical works such as “Moonlight Over the River in Spring”, “The Moon is High”, The Harvest Drums”etc.
